A vineyard stepping down to Lake Geneva?  A setting for a tale of wines.  The family owned vineyard Domaine Croix Duplex is approaching 90 years.  I’m a sucker for a kid’s tale- I can picture our hostess as a little girl crawling into the barrels to clean them.  Swiss wine stays local for the most part, so I enjoyed it while I could.  My favorite Swiss wine was the Chasselas.  Sipping wine with new friends and looking out at the lake was bliss.

Path of the Past

A medieval castle standing at the edge of Lake Geneva?  A setting for a lovely tale.  Chateau de Chillon served as protection and home for the Savoy family.  The windows to the lake are just as pretty as the lake.  I’m also a sucker for a hidden passage- which led us from the bedroom.  The arches and the beams in the castle hint at how grand it must have been to live there hundreds of years ago.  
Bonus bit of history: we spied a bunker across the street similar to Furigen Fortress.
